Sarah Boles
After receiving her B.A. in news-editorial photojournalism, Sarah worked as a sports editor for a small newspaper before going back to school to receive her M.A. in education. She taught middle school foreign cultures and language courses - mostly Spanish, but also introductory Chinese, French, and German - and coached cross country and track until the birth of her first child.
After a difficult birth and postpartum period, Sarah rediscovered her love of the outdoors as she sought relief from postpartum anxiety, depression, and rage, by adventuring with her young son. Now a mom of two wild children, adventuring outdoors has taken on even greater importance. Sarah and her family soak up as much fresh air and sunshine as they can while climbing, hiking, splashing, paddling, and running around.
Before joining the WildKind team as their editor, Sarah led hikes for Hike it Baby's Kansas City branch, and worked as the editorial manager for Adventure Mamas Initiative. In 2018 she was named Outdoor Research's #SheAdventures scholar, which led to her making a guided summit bid on her first technical mountain - the Grand Teton.
Sarah, a self-professed plant mama, also loves to garden. She enjoys learning about propagation and has a soft spot for rehabilitating neglected plants she finds on sale racks at garden centers.
